Privacy
aeso exists to lower the temperature around money. Handing your bank data to an app is the most nervous moment in that relationship, so here is exactly what happens to it — in plain sentences.
What we read
With your permission, and only after you connect an account, aeso reads your account balances, transaction history, upcoming scheduled payments, and card terms. We use them for one purpose: doing the math on your balance so we can show you the tightest day ahead and which card is safe to use.
What we never see
Your bank credentials never touch our servers. Connections are established through Plaid, which handles authentication directly with your institution and returns a token that lets us read — never move — money.
What we never do
We do not sell your data. We do not broker it, rent it, or hand it to advertisers or data aggregators. We do not build marketing profiles from your spending. There is no version of aeso where your transactions become someone else's product.
Who we share with
Only the service providers that make the app run: our bank-connection provider (Plaid), our cloud hosting and database provider, and our error-monitoring and email tooling. Each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions.
We may disclose information if required by valid legal process, and we will tell you when we are permitted to.
The email you gave us
If you joined the TestFlight list, we store your email address and the date you joined. We use it to tell you when a spot opens. Reply to any message asking to be removed and we delete the record.
How long we keep things
Financial data is retained while your account is open. Disconnect an institution and its data is removed from our systems within 30 days. Delete your account and everything goes, apart from records we are legally required to retain.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access by our team is limited to the small number of people who need it to operate the service, and is logged.
Your choices
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted, at any time, for any reason, without explaining why. Email privacy@aeso.app and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
aeso is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will email you before it takes effect rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
